Interior Design Rendering:

Project Objective:

To use AI-driven 3D rendering to help clients visualize interior design concepts, making it easier for them to imagine what their personal spaces could look like.

The Process:
Interior designers provided initial room layouts and concept ideas. Using ComfyUI, I built a workflow that seamlessly transformed layouts into realistic 3D visualizations, complete with furniture, lighting, and decor that matched the client’s style.

The Challenges:

  • Client Vision: The clients struggled to articulate what they wanted,  therefore, resulting in many alterations of the workflow as well as miscommunication.

  • Realism: Achieving the right balance of textures, lighting, and details to make the spaces believable.

  • Layout Consistency: The AI occasionally deviated from the original 2D layout, rearranging elements or misplacing features when generating the 3D rendering.

How I Solved Them:

  • Introduced iterative previews so clients could give feedback at every stage, and continued to update them throughout the process.

  • Integrated IP-Adapter to not only influence the AI’s style generation to align with the client’s aesthetic vision but also to ensure the final output was grounded in practical details, from furniture dimensions to realistic lighting physics.

  • Used ControlNet in ComfyUI to anchor the AI’s rendering to the original 2D layout, ensuring the layout and structure remained consistent throughout the 3D generation process. This tool helped maintain the integrity of the design while still allowing for high-quality rendering.
